On February 5th, 2025, DR Bank hosted a reception at their Darien branch to honor Generation S.O.S. and the Fairfield Museum and History Center, who were awarded the HBS Club of CT Community Partners (CP) biennial Robert Whitby Turbo Award. These awards, which are granted every 2-3 years, promote excellence and innovation in nonprofit organizations. DR Bank is a proud co-sponsor of CP’s for this award. Presenting the awards were Jim Rulmyr of CP and John Barbalaco, EVP & Chief Banking Officer for DR Bank.
Generation S.O.S. was recognized for their incredible work in empowering young people through honest conversations about mental health and substance abuse prevention. This $20,000 award will help them create the Video Library Program featuring teen and young adult speakers, of all socioeconomic backgrounds from across the country, sharing their stories about how they struggled with and overcame their struggles with mental health, social pressures and substance abuse. Receiving the award for Generation S.O.S. were Robin Aviv, the founder, Jim Hood (HBS ’78), their CEO and Debbie Silver, their Director of Communications.

The Fairfield Museum and History Center, our runner-up, received a special recognition prize for their inspiring contributions to preserving and sharing local history. This $5,000 award will help launch their new program to provide free hands-on educational field trips for Bridgeport students grades 6-8. Receiving the award was Michael Jehle, Executive Director of the museum.
